Trade rumor : Boston among 8 other teams for top defenseman!

Same big names on the market, new teams involved

It's now a well known fact that Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney would love to add (or at least move) some pieces from his lineup before making any move regarding head coach Claude Julien. Add to the equation that Zdeno Chara is not getting younger and the Boston Bruins have a lotsde good potential defensemen in their depth chart. Why not making a move to get a well established top defenseman to increase his chance to make a playoff run. A veteran that could also help the youngster in the team.

As we get closer to march 1st trade deadline, few names come out as rumors intensify around the Boston Bruins who are still in a playoff spot. It doesn't seem the B's are in the hunt for top forward Matt Duchene. That being said, that does not mean they won't move to get a big piece by the trade deadline.

According to top insider Darren Dreger  Boston is a potential landing spot for top defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk from the St-Louis Blues.

Dreger mentioned that "options Shattenkirk might be willing to consider include the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and Colorado Avalanche."

Would you guys take Shattenkirk?
