Pierre LeBrun discussed with Kevin Shattenkirk

As interviewed on sports network RDS, Pierre LeBrun opened up on Kevin Shattenkirk's situation by stating it all started as far as last summer when he met Shattenkirk to discuss about trade rumor. As per LeBrun :

"He told me last summer that he was ready to be traded. As a matter of fact, he was almost certain he was going to be traded over the summer 2016 because he was entering in the last year of his contract but nothing happened." said LeBrun by specifying it really came close to happen though.

On Thursday, as the St. Louis Blues were in Toronto and LeBrun took the time to meet with Shattenkirk. LeBrun said that "He's ready to face it, actually he's ready for all the possible situation that may happen." LeBrun came back on the fact that he's ready to move since last year but Shattenkirk dropped an interesting new information:

"I don’t want to sign a new contract with the Blues, that is my decision." said Shattenkirk to LeBrun. "I want to hit the UFA market for the first time in my career and maybe the only time in my career."

What is so interesting about that info? Well, when you have a top d-man like Shattenkirk that openly states he don't want to re-sign with your team, you need to trade him in case you do not want to lose him for nothing on July 1st.
