Ribeiro's case could hide something much bigger for the Preds

Yesterday at noon, the Nashville Predators waived their veteran forward Mike Ribeiro. Before doing so, There were few rumors that pointed out to Nashville yesterday as Mike Ribeiro would have presumely asked for a trade as reported by Pierre Lebrun. 

Here is the interesting thing : What if  Ribeiro's move was about making more spaces under the salary cap for Poile to get Matt Duchene? 

Why is this plausible in 3 bullet points?

1) David Poile has the guts to do big moves to shake up his team. Does anyone remember the Subban-Weber trade last summer?

2) "Clearing Ribeiro’s salary opens up an even larger chunk of cap space for the Predators, as well as a roster spot at the forward spot." as reported by Greg Whyshynski

3) Pierre Lebrun mentioned earlier this week this interesting story : "Poile’s team’s performance over the next three weeks will likely drive his trade-deadline decisions. The GM obviously would not comment on any trade speculation, but other sources have suggested that the Preds have already checked in with the Colorado Avalanche regarding Duchene and will probably monitor that situation moving forward. The Preds just can’t resist the big fish, right?"
