The Honey Moon is Over

Many have written over the summer that the arrival of head Coach Guy Boucher behind the Ottawa Senators' bench was a great move by the GM Pierre Dorion. Boucher was known to be a genuinely motivational coach that shows a lot of leadership behind the bench and knows how to get the best out of each players on his team.

As we're entering in the second half of the season, things haven't turn as they were supposed to between Boucher and his veteran player Chris Neil.

As a matter of fact, Chris Neil didn't like to be healthy scratched after Boucher gave his place to the newcomer Tommy Wingels.

" It's dissapointing because you want to play, but again it is what it is, I don't have any control over the situation. It's up to me to seize my chance the next game I am in the lineup" Neil said to LaPresse.

Boucher explained his decision briefly by saying " If Neil wants to reintegrate the lineup he just has to play like he used to".

Does Chris Neil might be tempted to ask for a trade?

Neil played 1018 games in the Ottawa Senators uniform without having a real chance of winning the Stanley Cup. The rising conflict between him and the head coach Guy Boucher could definitely lead to a roster movement.

Chris Neil could still help a contending team on the bottom-6 by bringing some grit and leadership.
