Injuries have been hard this season on several NHL clubs, including the Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks. The Canadian team lost both forwards in the same week.
Sven Baertschi has suffered a fractured jaw and will be out four to six weeks and is the second Canucks forward to suffer a long-term injury in the past week.
Bo Horvat suffered a fractured foot in Vancouver's 3-0 win over Carolina on Tuesday and will miss up to six weeks.
Serious blow in Vancouver.
However, according to NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun, Canucks general manager Jim Benning is out looking for a solution to help his team, who currently sits 21st in the League with a 14-13-4 record so far this year.
"I’m told general manager Jim Benning is working the phones trying to land a top-nine forward, although nothing seems imminent," explained LeBrun on TSN's Insider Trading last night.
The Canucks are not the only team looking for help up front as the trade deadline approaches. The Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks, Blues and Ducks are also on the hunt.
