Trade rumors: NHL teams will line up for Wings defenseman

We’re a little more than a month away from the opening of the 2017-18 season, and already players are caught up in the rumor mill, sitting ready on the trade block. 

Matt Larkin of The Hockey News has revealed the names of 10 trade candidates for the upcoming campaign, and though some have been mentioned throughout the summer, others are just getting started to get dizzy in the mill! 

The Detroit Red Wings have missed the post-season last spring, and it may be so this year too. So why not use defenseman Mike Green as a bargaining chip?

"Green might wind up the highest-impact player on the board when the trade deadline rolls around," Larkin adds. 

Green, apuck-moving right shot who can play in the top four, could get a first round pick in return. A great way for the Wings to rebuild the club and come back as a Cup contender in the future.
