Moore injured again?

The Toronto Maple Leafs have just made a very curious announcement.

According to an official announcement from the Maple Leafs organization the team has lost the services of forward Trevor Moore this afternoon, although the team has not disclosed why Moore will be absent from today's game. This of course raises some real concerns about Moore's health as the forward had only just played his first game over the weekend after a return from injury, one that now seems may have been premature. To be fair this issue could be entirely unrelated to that injury, however there are already many who have started to speculate about injury being the cause.

Maple Leafs insider James Mirtle wondered allowed today if this could be related to concussion type symptoms, something that could potentially keep the forward out for a long time if Mirtle proves to be correct.

"This is getting a bit ominous with Moore. More concussion-like symptoms?" wrote Mirtle on Monday.

As a result of this potential injury the Maple Leafs have been forced to make an emergency call up to their roster and thus far their decision appears to have been poorly received. Again according to an official announcement from the Maple Leafs organization the team has called up forward Jeremy Bracco form the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies, but fans on social media have been quick to criticize the move. Bracco of course has yet to play in a single NHL game so it certainly would be fair to suggest that he is as of yet unproven at that level, but perhaps he will now get a chance to do so given the absence of Moore.

Barcco has played in 28 games for the Toronto Marlies this season and over that stretch he has 3 goals and 19 assists for a very respectable 22 points.Bracco is a former second round draft pick of the Maple Leafs, the team selected him 61st overall at the 2015 National hockey League Entry draft, but he has never been able to evolve beyond the AHL given the stacked group the Maple Leafs have at the forward position. Perhaps Bracco will get a shot to get a better look under newly appointed head coach Sheldon Keefe, but I would not get my hopes up.
