Trouba's Asking Price

It appears as though the asking price for the recently estranged Jacob Trouba of the Winnipeg Jets is becoming clearer. Only one day after the 22-year-old budding defenseman requested a trade out of the Manitoba franchise, TSN’s Gary Lawless reports that general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has made it very clear that the team will only accept a left-handed blue-liner of the same caliber and similar age in exchange.

Trouba and his agent have cited a lack of room for the young player, as Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers occupy the top-4 right side and Trouba would have been forced to play uncomfortably on the left. Evidently, the latter believes he belongs on one of the top pairings and therefore deserves a chance to flourish elsewhere.
