TSN accused of creating fake anti-Babcock website

Take a quick scroll through TSN.ca or flip TSN on your television set and you’re bound to be inundated with dozens and dozens of Toronto centric news stories. Despite the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for three weeks, there’s still PLENTY of Leafs content online and on television courtesy of TSN.

Of course, this is nothing new as Canadian hockey fans have complained for years, decades even, that TSN does a poor job of hiding its Toronto bias. But… this next story, if true, really takes the cake.

Yesterday afternoon the TSN owned blog BarDown published a story about “a spoof site dedicated for spurning Mike Babcock”. The site in question is actually pretty funny, you can check it out at Babcott.com.



In their tweet about the spoof site though, Leafs analyst Jeff Veillette accused BarDown of creating the site themselves in a thinly veiled attempt to go viral.

UPDATE: Veillette has now deleted the above twitter posts. Also, for what it's worth, Corwin from BarDown responded to Veillette's accusation. See below:
