TSN parts ways with one insider!

After Sportsnet, TSN is now starting to make changes!

In the recent days, Sportsnet has cleaned house, parting ways with three long-time reporters and insiders, sending shock waves throughout the league.

On Wednesday, longtime NHL insider Nick Kypreos parted ways with Rogers owned broadcaster Sportsnet, making the announcement himself on social media. It was also announced that his Hockey Central co-host Doug MacLean parted ways with Sportsnet that same day.

On Thursday, there was another Rogers casualty as it was revealed by Steve Simmons that fellow Hockey Central panelist John Shannon has been shown the door at Sportsnet.

While Sportsnet fanatics wonder who will be next, it seems like TSN followed suit on Thursday evening when one of their insiders revealed his contract was not renewed with the network.

Francois Gagnon, who always jumped on the air during the Montreal Canadiens’ regional games on TSN and was a contributor to many of the shows on the air of TSN 690 announced that he would not be back for the 2019-20 season.

“Was just informed by TSN-690 that my services won’t be required this year. They are going in another direction. I would like to thank the management, my friends on the morning show, Tony and all the staff for all those fun years. I will miss them and I will miss you all.”

Gagnon did not explain why his contract wasn’t renewed but mentioned management was heading into a different direction. We wonder if Bell is also facing tough financial cuts like Rogers has been, which prompted the many changes that occurred this week.

We hope we can hold on to a few insiders ahead of the next season!
