The UFA market will open in barely a few hours, but the rumors and confirmations are running wild today. Although the players and teams can't reach aggreaments officially until July 1st, there are obviously talk going on to confirm or infirm mutual intentions.

According to a Duck insider well versed in the teams affairs, Steven Oleksy would be signing a two years deal with the Ducks.

Arguably not the most regular and offensively oriented defenseman in the league, Oleksy still played 73 games in the NHL thus far. The 31 years old is known for his tough style of play and willingness to take one for the team. At 6', 190lbs, he's not the biggest guy around, but fearlessness is part of his personality.

His last contract was a one year, 575,000$ deal with the Penguins.

On top of that, Oleksy has the reputation of being a true team player always ready to share a laugh. He might not play many, if any, games with the Ducks, but having him in the entourage could bring a lot of positive in Anaheim.
