Two big injury updates for the Bruins on Saturday morning.

The Boston Bruins are in the Eastern Conference Final and have gotten things off to a very good start. The Bruins took a 1 - 0 series lead this week when they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes thanks to a late surge in the 3rd period of Game 1. It's exactly how the Bruins would have wanted to kick off the series and, although they will still have to wait another day before playing in the 2nd game of that series, they are currently receiving more good news.

The Bruins hit the ice on Saturday morning for their usual practice and there were quite a few interesting little bits of information to come out of what would otherwise have been a routine skate for the Bruins. First and foremost here is a look at the lines and pairings that Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy was running at practice on Saturday:

Forwards:

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak

DeBrusk - Krejci - Backes

Johansson - Coyle - Heinen

Nordstrom - Kuraly - Wagner

Defensive pairings:

Acciari/Kuhlman

Chara - McAvoy

Krug - Carlo

Grzelcyk - Clifton

Moore - Kampfer

Goaltenders:

Rask

Halak

Pretty standard stuff as far as the Bruins lines are concerned. The big news however surrounded two injured Bruins players, both of whom seemed to take steps towards getting better and presumably towards getting into the Bruins line up as a result of that recovery. The first update came via Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty who revealed that Bruins veteran forward Noel Acciari was back out on the ice and skating with his teammates on Saturday, although he was doing so with a non contact jersey. Acciari of course has been absent from the last 3 playoff games that the Bruins have participated in and given the non contact jersey it seems likely that he will miss a 4th straight game due to injury. That being said the fact that he is out there on the ice and working out should be viewed as a positive.

There was another smaller update as well although this one is also very promising. According to Boston Bruins reporter Jimmy Murphy, it appears that the Bruins veteran defenseman has shed the leg brace that he has been walking in as of late. It's too vague of a report to gauge too much from it, but this also has to be viewed as a sign that Miller is getting closer to being able to return to the line up.
