With free agency having largely died down and all the in-house signings already taken care of for the Maple Leafs most fans are now looking forward to next season, but two big questions remain around two important names for Toronto.

The first is Joffrey Lupul, the talented but extremely fragile Leafs' forward who has been unreliable due to his catastrophic track record when it comes to injuries during his time as a Maple Leaf. Lupul is taking up over $5 million in cap space and it's unclear how much he can be expected to contribute in the 2016-2017 campaign. Lupul, who has missed over 100 games due to injury since signing his new contract has had a decline in performance making his injury woes even harder to stomach, and rumors of a buyout, a trade, and even long-termed injured reserve have floated for months.

The second and perhaps far more interesting question surrounds soon to be free agent forward Jimmy Vesey, who has strong ties to the Maple Leafs, and whether or not he will in fact join both his brother and his father as a member of the Maple Leafs organization. It's true that there are a number of team's who have expressed interest, including cup contenders like the Chicago Blackhawks, but none of those organizations have the selling point the Leafs do.

With Vesey set to be a free agent August 15th, we are likely to have that question answered first.
