Two Eastern teams close to trade with each other?

Even though both the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers have right their ship a bit these last few days, rumors of a deal brewing between both teams are still buzzing.

Last week, the Rangers had four top guys traveling to Ottawa instead of going back home and watched the Habs/Sens game. Senior staff including Glen Sather (President)Jim Schoenfeld (Assistant GM)Doug Risebrough (scout), and Gilles Leger (scout) that seemed to had their eyes on a specific player on the Canadiens' roster to send so many top guys to the game.

According to two different reporters, Larry Brooks out of New York and Alain Sanscartier out of Ottawa, the player on the Rangers' radar would be 23-year old Alex Galchenyuk and they'd be willing to give up forward Chris Kreider.

According to a new rumor, to make this deal happen, Rangers would be willing to add left-handed defenseman Nick Holden to the deal a get their hands on Galchenyuk.
