We have two of the National Hockey League top insiders pointing to the very same trade.

TSN insider Darren Dreger discussed the trade rumors surrounding Ottawa Senators goal scorer Mike Hoffman during a radio interview on Tuesday, and he pointed to the St. Louis Blues as a likely candidate for that trade deal.

"I don’t think that Ottawa has what I would call a concrete offer on Hoffman, but I know that they have at least one offer for future considerations – for draft pick, draft picks, or a prospect and draft picks," said Dreger as per Chris Nichols. "I’m assuming it’s coming from a Western Conference team. We’ve speculated on the interest from the St. Louis Blues."

On Wednesday Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman appeared to echo Dreger's comments when he suggested that St. Louis would be a likely landing spot for Hoffman. Friedman however went one step further and named some players and prospects that could be dealt in return for Hoffman.

From Friedman:

Mentioned St. Louis as one potential team for Hoffman. There is some interest and the Blues are loaded with prospects, especially at forward — Klim Kostin, Jordan Kyrou, Rob Thomas, Tage Thompson. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some interest in Robby Fabbri, too, even though he’s out for the year.

Hoffman would be a huge pick up for any team, in 37 games this season he has 9 goals and 15 assists for 24 total points. On top of that he is also coming off four consecutive seasons with 25 or more goals.
