There are some very serious rumors flying around the National Hockey League today and they pertain to two young talents potentially leaving the league to go play overseas in the Kontinental Hockey League.

First comes a report from Russian sports reporter Igor Eronko, one that claims that Dallas Stars forward Valeri Nichushkin is set to sign a two year contract with the KHL's CSKA Moscow, this despite the fact that the Stars seem unaware.

In fact Dallas Stars insider Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News has reportedly contacted the team who have informed him that they have not been informed of any potential move from Nichushkin, making this a very curious scenario indeed.

This situation gets even more complicated when you realize that Nichushkin has the same agent as Washington Capitals defenseman Dimitry Orlov who has been rumored to be considering a move to the KHL due to his contract status still being unresolved with the Capitals, and restricted free agency limiting his options here in North America.

The Washinton Post's specifically pointed to this fact earlier today, leading many to believe that the writing could be on the wall for Orlov, a move that would be nothing short of shocking. As a 25 year old NHL defenseman in his prime, and a good one at that, he would have no trouble finding a fit on several NHL roster were it not for his status as an RFA.

More to come as this story develops.
