The New York Rangers embarked on what they hoped would be an accelerated rebuild last season when they announced to their fans that they would look to rebuild the team from the ground up.

Although the Rangers are still very early on in the process at this stage they this far appear to have kept true to their word and do appear hell bent on getting as young and as talented players as they possibly can given the current state of their organization. Once again the Rangers appear to have done a pretty solid job of that by making some blockbuster trade moves just prior to the 2018 National Hockey League trade deadline and general manager Jeff Gorton deserves a lot of credit to this talent together.

That being said though if you thought the Rangers had done a good job of keeping their word and pushing towards the rebuild then you will be excited to learn that another big score may becoming their way given their long term commitment to the success of the franchise. This week Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the last two big names of offense could also be on the move and there will likely be a fair bit of backlash given how much eat man melt do the Toronto.

"Yeah, and that’s why they’re on that board," said Darren Dreger during as per Nichols on Hockey. "There’s been some whispering around both Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes, so I wasn’t at all surprised to see those two names on that board, and those names are legit.

"I think the New York Rangers, they want to go about this in a patient but kind of a kick-start rebuild, if you will. That New York market attracts a lot of players. You can’t be in a rebuild mode if all of the sudden we get through the year, things stay the way they are with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Artemi Panarin all of the sudden decides he’s going into free agency, and he ends up a New York Ranger. Well, you’re not rebuilding when you’re signing a piece like that.

With names like Zuccarello and Hayes on the block there will be n shortage of suitors doing NRG calm. that being said though this will be a first time experience for some of the players and I handled it when.
