By now most fans in the National Hockey League know that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba has demanded to be traded but it's unclear what is going on with that process .We now have two potential destinations for Trouba that come from two different insiders.

First from TSN insider Darren Dreger, it sounds like if Trouba had his way, he would be playing as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in the near future.

“And I know that he would love to play for the Detroit Red Wings," began Dreger as per Nichols on Hockey. "I get it. There are lots of other teams that he would like to play for. I believe he’d love to play for the Detroit Red Wings. But the Detroit Red Wings aren’t trading Dylan Larkin. And beyond Dylan Larkin, there’s no fit for Jacob Trouba in terms of Winnipeg’s interest in the Red Wings’ roster. So that one’s a bit more complicated."

“I think it’s less about money for Trouba, frankly, in Winnipeg, and more about going where he believes he can be the right fit on the right side of the blueline."

However it's never up to the player, especially one with no right and no leverage in a trade, and Dreger has his doubts about Detroit's ability to make the deal.

“I think he likes Detroit, but Detroit just doesn’t have the assets.”

The other destination comes in the form of a bold prediction from TSN insider Frank Seravalli, who believes the top offer for Trouba will come from Boston, something that in theory should allow the Bruins to land him.

From Seravalli:

But it may come down to the wire of the Dec. 1 deadline for restricted free agents to re-sign. No team needs Trouba more than Boston, where he’d slide in as the top pair right-shot defenceman and provide a much-needed generational bridge on the backend from Zdeno Chara.

The Bruins certainly seem like the more likely to get the deal done, but Seravalli did not touch on what they would be forced to give up to make this move a reality, and one has to imagine the price will be very high.
