Are Detroit's players overrated or undervalued?

It could simply be a coincidence but two of the Detroit Red Wings' forwards were scratched ahead of Thursday night's exhibition game.

Team North America demoted the Red Wings Dylan Larkin to their spare forward ahead of the exhibition match up although to be fair to head coach Todd McLellan he was back up on the top three lines at practice today.

Meanwhile Team Europe benched the recently acquired Thomas Vanek for the very same game, unlike Larkin however it's unclear if Vanek will continue to sit out more games throughout this tournament.

It does appear that the Red Wings offense may not be getting it's just due thus far into the tournament, however it could just be a question of timing that gives that appearance from the outside looking in. However if one of or both of these players continue to be scratched it will be a bigger cause for concern.
