The Pittsburgh Penguins appear to be getting healthy at the right time, and on Friday two of their top stars, Evgeni Malkin and Marc-Andre Fleury both practiced after sitting out Game 1 due to injury.

According to multiple reports both players are still listed as day to day, and both are considered game time decisions for Game 2 of first round series between the Penguins and the New York Rangers.

With that said, a recent report from Sportsnet reporter Chris Johnston, who spoke to Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan, revealed that the Penguins bench boss believes the progress from both players is “very promising.”

This could very well become a critical factor in this series, with the Rangers currently decimated by injuries to key players like Ryan McDonagh, and Henrik Lundqvist, a healthy Penguins squad could be too much for a depleted Rangers line up to contend with.
