Two veteran forwards who may get some interest have been made available on the waiver wire today.

According to a report from Sportsnet hockey insider Elliotte Friedman both Brandon Prust of the Vancouver Canucks and Mason Raymond of the Calgary Flames have been waived by their respective teams, and it's the time of year teams are in the market for veteran depth.

Of the two men Prust is the more likely to draw significant interest, his $2 million cap hit is $1.5 million less than that of Raymond, and he has seen more ice time this season and has put up better numbers than Raymond this season.

However Raymond does come with an additional year of term on his contract and although he has struggled a team could view him as a potential reclamation project at just 30 years of age. Although admittedly that scenario seems less than likely. Mason is a useful player, but at a cap hit of $3.5 million he may be too expensive an option to be seriously considered.
