We have a good number of names on the waiver wire on Sunday.

According to a report from Sportsnet's National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman the Minnesota Wild have been very busy sending two of their current roster players to the waiver wire today. The two players being waived by the Wild are veteran defenseman Nate Prosser and veteran forward J.T. Brown.

In the case of Prosser the move is not all that surprising given how much his playing time has decreased this season when compared to his previous campaign with the Wild. Prosser has already played 2 games with the Wild's American Hockey League affiliate the Iowa Wild this season and by comparison has only appeared in a grand total of 15 games at the National Hockey League level for the Wild this season. It seems likely that this moved is designed to send him back down. Although it has to be noted that the 32 year old defenseman has a very cheap cap hit of $650,000 this season so although he's not showing the form he did earlier in his career he is still a very cheap and very experienced option for teams that could be looking to claim him.

As for J.T. Brown he has also seen limited playing time this season with the Wild, although he has appeared in more games this season than he did in each of his previous 2 seasons. Brown has appeared in 35 games for the Wild this year and has picked up 1 goals and 3 assists for a total of 22 points and boasts a plus minus rating of -5 on the seaosn thus far. Brown however does take a significant number of penalties and already has 22 penalty minutes through those same 35 games.

Last but not least we have Nick Paul of the Ottawa Senators who is also on his way to the waiver wire. Like the two aforementioned players Paul, a winger, has seen limited use this season appearing in 20 games and recording 1 goal and 1 assists for a total of 2 points. He also boasts an ugly plus minus rating of -10 on the season and I think it's fairly unlikely that he gets looked at this late in the season before the trade deadline.
