Monday night was one hell of a night for the National Hockey League's record books, with three men making major marks on hockey's history.

First and foremost, and arguably the greatest of the three achievements was none other than veteran forward Jaromir Jagr, recording his 28th assists of the season, moving past his tie with NHL legend Gordie Howe and standing alone as the NHLer with the third most points all-time. If Jagr plays for another season there is a very real possibility that he moves even higher up the list.

In that very same game another man was setting a record of his own, Boston Bruins head coach became the Bruins all-time winnigest coach after a 5-4 overtime win earned him his 388th win as the Bruins bench boss. It's an especially amazing accomplishment when you take into consideration many believed Julien was on the hot seat at the beginning of the season.

One young gun also got in on the fun on Monday setting his own franchise record, Flyers' rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere. Gostisbehere recorded not one but two goals on the evening to eclipse the all-time Flyers' record for goals scored by a defenseman in his rookie season. Many fans in Philadelphia have been lobbying for Gostisbehere to at least get a nomination in the Calder Trophy discussion, and his performance on Monday certainly strengthened his case.

All in all it was a great night for fans of hockey.
