Corey Perry's 14-year career as a member of the Anaheim Ducks ended Wednesday after the team bought out the remaining two years of his contract.

While the decision was tough, it didn’t come as a surprise, which means Perry can already focus on what’s to come.

And according to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, it could be a new contract with another Western club.

LeBrun reveals in his latest column that the Nashville Predators are interested in signing the All-Star player. It is believed that Perry himself has had interest in moving to Nashville and could seriously consider the offer.

The insider also reports that the Chicago Blackhawks are also in the mix to possibly entice Perry to come and play in the Windy City.

“Several teams have already shown interest in UFA winger Corey Perry since this buyout took effect Wednesday. There’s mutual interest between Perry and the Nashville Predators, sources say. In fact, I think Nashville was one of the teams on his short list he’d waive his no-trade for when Anaheim was first trying to trade him. Another club that has an interest is the Chicago Blackhawks, according to a source. There are going to be several suitors for a motivated, proven winner who will come cheap on a one-year, bonus-laden deal.”

Perry helped the Ducks capture their first and only Stanley Cup in 2007 and would love to get another shot at it. Let’s see where he lands next season to make this dream come true.
