It's a great day to be Edmonton Oilers forward Anton Lander. Lander was placed on waivers before the start of the regular season and his future seemed uncertain at best. However the Oilers announced on Thursday that they have signed Lander to a two year extension worth $1.97 million dollars. While that may not seem like the biggest deal as far as NHL contracts are concerned, it still represents more than a 50% pay raise for Lander who's entry level deal currently pays him $600,000 annually. Lander has 6 goals and 11 assists in 33 games with Edmonton this season.
