Unbelievable! John Tortorella seriously injured during practice.

Columbus Blue Jackets' head coach John Tortorella is a game time decision for the Jackets' game tomorrow.

Torts collided heavily with winger Rene Bourque , during a drill at practice today.

According to Shawn Mitchell form the Columbus Dispatch, Tortorella was standing close the the board when Rene Bourque collided with his head coach violently:

"Torts went down hard twisting and falling awkwardly on hip/rump. He remained on the ice for a few moments, before being attended to by medical staff. He skated off gingerly to the locker room. "

Bourque told Mitchell that he "hit a rut". The Blue Jackets were practising on an outdoor rink when the collision happened.

John Davidson, Jackets' president, told the media that John Tortorella's back locked up, but he should travel with the team. Rob Mixer form the Blue Jackets said that Torts was pretty banged up.

Apparently, the head coach went back onto the ice and annoyed the rut until it asked for a trade and was sent to Nashville.
