University of Alberta player shatters glass… with his skate!

This past weekend, Canadian University USports regional conferences got underway to determine playoff seedings for the upcoming national championships.

In the Canada West Conference, the University of Alberta Golden Bears defeated the University of Saskatchewan Huskies 1-0 in Game 3 to win their third straight conference title.

But, that’s not what we’re here for… we’re here to talk about maybe the weirdest glass shattering in hockey history.

During the second period, defenseman Sawyer Lange made an awkward move in the corner and ended up crashing into the boards and ended up with his left skate going completely through the glass! The game had to be delayed for 12-minutes while a crew cleaned up the glass and replaced the broken pane.
