Update: Gaudreau officially adresses Flyers rumors
Keystone Press

When Calgary Flames superstar exclaimed “it would be sweet” to one day play for his hometown Philadelphia Flyers one day, you could hear all 1.4 million people in the Stampede City gasp. Less than a week later though, Gaudreau is backtracking from his stance and clarifying his comments in an effort to put to rest any rumor of him being unhappy in Calgary. In an interview the Courier-Post, Gaudreau stated:

"Yeah, the way the question was asked I said, 'It would be sweet to play in your hometown’. I think if you ask any player in the NHL if they’d like to play in their hometown at some point they’d all say it would be pretty sweet.”

Sensing he hadn’t affirmed his adoration for his new home enough, Gaudreau added:

“I love Calgary, don’t (get) me wrong. It’s a great city and they’re so passionate about our team. It’s a real hockey city. I really enjoy it up there, don’t get me wrong, but I think if you ask any player if he wants to play in his hometown they’d say it would be pretty cool to do that.”

So there you have it, Flames fans. Johnny Hockey loves you just as much as you love him. Awwww... isn't that so sweet?
