We have an update on the major lawsuit facing both the Calgary Flames organization as well as National Hockey League veteran Dennis Wideman.

As many of our readers will know, National Hockey League linesman Don Henderson announced a major lawsuit, one for over $10 million dollars, following the unprovoked attack against his person by Wideman during the 2015-2016 NHL season.

Now a report from Kamil Karamali‏ of CTV News has revealed that the hearing for the lawsuit has been adjourned, and we may now have to wait until beyond 2018 just to learn whether or not this lawsuit will go to court or if it will be resolved by an arbitrator.

Karamali reports that the lawyers in this case were looking for more time, although he did not specify if those are the lawyers representing the plaintiffs or the defendants.

The Province of Alberta is reportedly one of the plaintiffs in this lawsuit so while this will delay the process, we don't expect it to disappear anytime soon.
