The Boston Bruins dropped game 2 of their opening round series against the Ottawa Senators last night and didn’t look good in the process by giving up a 2 goal lead in the third period. The Bruins’ defence corps, led by 40 year-old Zdeno Chara, was under-manned and under siege against the Senators for much of the game and unfortunately it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon.

Already missing Torey Krug, Adam McQuaid and Colin Miller from the team’s blue line, it looks like they won’t see the return of Brandon Carlo for game 3 tomorrow evening. Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said that although Carlo skated with the team this morning, his return for tomorrow is doubtful.

"Going forward is more of a target date," Cassidy said of Carlo. "That's kind of the way we're looking at it."

It’s a tough break for the Bruins, who could use Carlo’s physical presence on the back end. The 20 year-old rookie has 16 points in 82 games for the Bruins this season and has used his 6’5”, 205 lb frame well this season when defending against the opposition.
