This would situation with current RFA forward Josh Anderson has been a roller coaster. First off, It was reported that Anderson requested a trade out of Columbus because the Blue Jackets and Anderson were far apart in contract negotiations.

Jared Clinton has reported that a deal could still happen and Blue Jackets General manager Jarmo Kekalainen believe it could happen soon. If a deal cannot be made between the two, Other rumors coming out that Anderson could be dealt to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Matt Duchene.

Lyle Richardson from the Hockey News dug deeper into the situation with the 23 year old forward:

"Kekalainen holds the leverage in this standoff and can afford to wait out Anderson for the time being. However, if the young winger isn't re-signed by Dec. 1, he becomes ineligible to play in the NHL for the remainder of the season. The longer this impasse drags on, however, the more pressure shifts onto Kekalainen to sign Anderson or trade him."- Richardson
