Update on Marc-Andre Fleury trade rumors.

There is an expectation that Pittsburgh Penguins veteran goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be traded this summer to allow the Penguins to protect rookie goaltender Matt Murray. Less clear however is where Fleury will end up.

On Wednesday, TSN insider Pierre LeBrun revealed that he believes Fleury remains the number one target for the Calgary Flames who have recently been connected to Arizona Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith.

"I still think at the end of the day the Flames' number one target is Marc-Andre Fleury, if at all possible,." said LeBrun.

Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman has seemingly echoed those comments, although he appears to believe that Las Vegas remains the favorite to acquire Fleury, although what they would trade in such a move is unclear.

“Fleury obviously is the guy at the top of the list, no question,” said Friedman as per Fanrag Sports. “And to be honest, if it was Calgary and that was the best option, it wouldn’t surprise me if Marc-Andre Fleury said, ‘Fine.’

“But I think you have to look at Vegas – that’s probably the team I would look at right now and say, ‘Yeah, you know what? They’re probably the team unless proven otherwise.’ “
