The was a very scary moment on Wednesday night during Game 4 of the first round series between the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals, when forward Scott Laughton was carted off the ice on stretcher.

Laughton was injured when a battle with a Washington player resulted in an awkward fall which then led to a brutal collision along the boards.  Laughton's back appeared to take the worst of the blow and when he stayed down motionless on the ice it was hard not to fear the worst. Thankfully despite not moving much, if at all, Laughton was responsive before being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

While we still don't know what kind of injury he may have suffered, Flyers' insider Frank Seravalli has heard from players that Laughton is ok. Furthermore the Flyers have announced that Laughton will stay in hospital over night, but have stated it's merely precationary.
