Ahead of tonight’s preseason matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, the Detroit Red Wings welcomed back players who had participated at the World Cup of Hockey tournament in Toronto.
The return of Thomas Vanek, Frans Nielsen, and Tomas Tatar who all featured for World Cup finalists Team Europe allowed for the three forwards to participate in a full team practice earlier today.
As it stands, they’re expected to play this upcoming Saturday ahead of the 2016-2017 regular season.
