Update: There are now conflicting reports regarding Kevin Shattenkirk.

This is exactly why we tell our readers that no reports will be official until after noon today. 

Despite a breaking news report from Kevin Weeks of the National Hockey League's Network it now sounds like the talk of Kevin Shattenkirk to the New York Rangers may have been extremely premature. 

Weeks reported that Shattenkirk had accepted a four-year deal worth an estimated $6.9 million per season with the Rangers however now TSN insider Frank Seravalli is reporting that those reports are false. 

Seravalli has reportedly reached out to the Shattenkirk camp and he has been informed that no decision has been made at this time and Shattenkirk hasn't even decided where he will sign yet much less how much he will sign for. 

With all due respect to Weeks, Seravalli's track record on these matters is impeccable and as a senior reporter at TSN we tend to lean towards his report as the more credible here.
