Update: Thunderous hit leads to player leaving the ice on a stretcher Tuesday night.

There was a very scary moment on Tuesday night during the match up between the Vancouver Canucks and the New Jersey Devils.

While it appears to have been a clean hit from New Jersey Devils forward Taylor Hall, a player known for his skill rather than his physical play, that didn't prevent him from doing serious damage to Canucks' defenseman Philip Larsen.

Larsen appeared to be out on his feet before he hit the ice, and once he hit it he did not move for a long time. It was clear from the moment Larsen went down that something was wrong, and a stretcher was required to take him off of the ice and he was eventually brought to a local hospital for testing.

We do have somewhat of a positive update, Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins has informed the media that Larsen has movement in his extremities and was able to speak and respond to the medical staff attending to him. Hopefully this is a sign that whatever injury he did suffer will be something he can fully recover from.
