Update: Time frame confirmed for Steven Stamkos injury
z

Steven Stamkos has not had any luck when it comes to injuries. When he gets hurt, it tends to be for a while.

Once again that is the case. The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that their superstar forward will likely be out for 4 months.

This will be a huge loss once again for the Lightning. They lost their captain last season in April with blood clots. He returned to play one game during the playoffs before Tampa was eliminated. He also missed significant time when he broke his leg back during the 2013-14 season. Tampa Bay held their own last season when Stamkos went down but you can't continue to lose your best player and always expect things to be ok. They need Stamkos in their lineup. He was killing it so far this season with 9 goals and 11 assists in 17 games. Losing him hurts the depth that the Lightning have. Players like Brayden Point have really stepped up and Nikita Kucherov has also been having a great start to the season. Let's just hope for Tampa Bay that they can once again work around losing one of the best goal scorers in the game.
