Update: Top 4 defenseman out 'indefinitely' after ugly injury

It was reported earlier today that Ian Cole of the Pittsburgh Penguins was taken out by a hard shot to the mouth Saturday night against the Nashville Predators. The shot came off the stick of Roman Josi, and led to a pretty disgusting result - which the victim of the shot decided to shock Twitter with.

Cole will be out indefinitely until he recovers from this serious facial injury, according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Ann Arbor native, drafted 18th overall in 2007, has played 341 career NHL games.
