The Las Vegas Golden Knights are drawing very close to the expansion draft, and general manager George McPhee has not been shy about openly discussing about his plans, and what he has been offered thus far.

According to McPhee himself, he has received some interesting offers from teams in the National Hockey League, offers that would have the Golden Knights taking on some big contracts to allow rival teams to alleviate cap space.

“We have a lot of teams offering us big contracts,” McPhee said as per the Las Vegas Review Journal. “We’ll take a few of those, for the right price.”

The "right price" would likely be draft picks going to Las Vegas in engage for the cap space they would be providing, so that means the Golden Knights could be getting some big names who are currently being overpaid, and draft picks all in the same deal. Even more interesting is that McPhee indicated that some of the deals are very close.

“We’re far along on a couple that I imagine we’ll have something done soon,” he said.

We expect a torrent of deals to be announced following the end of the Stanley Cup Finals.
