Despite the fact that the has the number four overall pick in the draft, and despite the fact that his peers all had big seasons in the National Hockey League, the development of Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujärvi has been largely disappointing this season.

On Thursday there was yet one more sign that not all is well Puljujärvi when he gave an interview to Teemy Tammilehto of Finnish website Yle Urheilu. According to Oilers now, in that interview it was confirmed that Puljujärvi had been made a reserve player for the Finish squad at the World Championships.

For Puljujärvi to fail to make the main roster that contains just 5 National Hockey League players is not a good sign for where his own national program currently views him, and his has to be yet another frustrating setback for the young Oilers
