Very sad news for NHL goaltender's family
ottawacitizen.ccom

We have some sad news to report today.

Ottawa Senators' goaltender Craig Anderson's wife Nicole has been diagnosed with Cancer. Sens GM Pierre Dorion made the announcement to the press earlier today. Anderson has been away from the Sens this week when it was announced by the team that he was taking a leave of absence. Dorion said that Craig will be back with the team, but no date has been set.

This is obviously a very hard time for the Anderson family. Nicole is in the early stages of the diagnostic so they are playing the waiting game to get all the information possible and then be able to see what the course of action is afterwards.

The Senators are no stranger to tough moments as a franchise when it comes to the health of staff and players. Their owner, Eugene Melnyk needed an urgent liver transplant back in 2015 and their ex general manager Bryan Murray has been battling stage 4 Colon Cancer.

We send out our thoughts and prayers to the Anderson family and the Ottawa Senators organization.
