It seems like one of the National Hockey League's veteran defensemen may be at the end of the road when it comes to his NHL career.

After being quickly bought out of his contract after just three games played with the Calgary Flames this season, Nicklas Grossmann has failed to find his way onto another NHL roster, whether that is due to personal choice or lack of interest is still unclear, and as a result is taking the next step in his career.

Now according to reports out of Europe, Grossmann has agreed to sign a new contract with Orebro of the Swedish Hockey League, although the term and financials of that contract have yet to be officially disclosed.

At 31 years of age, and soon to turn 32 in January, it's hard to imagine thatGrossmann can or even wants to work his way back into the NHL at this point.
