Veteran enforcer to miss training camp

While the Vegas Golden Knights didn’t get as far in their second year as an National Hockey League franchise than they did in their first, they were quite lucky in their second season, acquiring Max Pacioretty before it got started and adding Mark Stone at the trade deadline. 

They were hoping the good luck would keep rolling, but unfortunately, you also get dealt bad cards in Vegas. 

Later on Thursday, new Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced that fan favourite and enforcer Ryan Reaves would miss part of training camp due to an undisclosed injury he suffered late in the summer. 

The GM did not give a timeline for Reaves’ return, but did mention he was considered day to day at the moment. 

It remains to be seen if it will be serious enough to have him miss preseason contests and the start of the campaign. 

Last year, the 32-year-old forward posted his first 80-game season since the 2016-17 campaign. He also logged career highs in hits (305), goals (9), assists (11) and shots on goal (95) last season.
