A veteran goalie has been placed on waivers just months after being signed to a two-year deal.

According to a report from NBC Chicago, the Blackhawks have placed 31-year-old Jeff Glass on waivers Friday, the decision comes as multiple National Hockey League teams have been trimming down their preseason rosters.

Glass was signed to a two-year deal b the Blackhawks back in February, presumably as a measure to help deal with the injury suffered by starting goalie Corey Crawford during the 2016-2017 campaign.

Despite being picked up by both the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and the aforementioned Blackhawks since coming over from the Kontinental Hockey League, Glass has yet to appear in a single NHL game.

It will be interesting to see if a team in need of goaltending depth will take a gamble on him.
