Not the kind of comments you make when you plan to come back.

There is some indication that Steve Mason would like to be back in goal for the Flyers' next season, but he had a funny way of showing it today.

On Tuesday when the team began preparing for the offseason, several players spoke to the media, but perhaps none had more notable comments than Mason regarding how the season played out.

According to Flyers' insider Sam Carchidi, Mason feels he should have been the team's number one goaltender to start the season, and while he didn't expressly say it, it certainly sounded like Mason felt that was partially to blame for his poor performance.

Perhaps even more surprising was Mason's apparent insistence on getting a quick response from the Flyer's on a potential new contract after his relatively unsuccessful season,

"Told Hexy to do me favor & make decision ASAP. I have things I have to take care of as far as a house. He said he’d contact my agent."

It will be very interesting to see how general manager Ron Hextall proceeds moving forward.
