Not sure his general manager is going to appreciate this...

Some people seem unable to shut up when a microphone comes their way… While we understand that an NHL head coach needs to answer questions ahead of the season - especially when his team failed to clinch a playoff spot last spring - however, he needs to be careful on what he decides to reveal.

Someone should have made sure of that before Montreal Canadiens head coach Claude Julien met with media members at Jonathan Drouin’s annual golf tournament on Thursday.

Julien spoke with reporters about what to expect from the Habs for the upcoming season and one of his answers stood out above the others.

When Julien was asked about his starting lineup for the start of the season, the head coach appeared reluctant to answer the question, hinting that his general manager Marc Bergevin might not be done shopping on the market, which could change several things in the next 10 days.

“I think we have until Sept. 9 for our official golf tournament and by then we’ll have more clarity on what to expect because there’s still some things we’re discussing,” he said, per Sportsnet’s Eric Engels.

We all remember that the Habs made a significant trade last year, on Sept. 10 ahead of their team's annual golf tournament, when they shipped their captain Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights in return for forward Tomas Tatar and star prospect Nick Suzuki

We could see a similar scenario take place in the coming days and it sure seems like Julien is aware of something going on behind the scenes in Montreal…
