Matt Greene will be joining the Los Angeles Kings as a Pro Scout.

The news comes following the offseason buyout of the veteran blueliner. Greene played for the Kings the past nine seasons and helped the club win two Stanley Cups. He only played 26 games in 2016-17 due to injury, but was still named the recipient of the Ace Bailey Memorial Award (Most Inspirational Player) as voted by his teammates.

He currently ranks ninth all-time in games played among Kings defensemen, playing in 464 regular season games and recording 67 points. Greene became a great leader over his time in Los Angeles and fans are likely very happy he'll be sticking around.
