Veteran NHL forward makes career change!

With the 2017-18 season more than underway, several veteran players had to give up the dream of getting another contract with an NHL club. It looks to be the case for former forward Brandon Prust, who announced last night that he was making a career change this year.

Prust landed a professional tryout agreement with the Los Angeles Kings this summer, but the team let him go and the 33-year-old was left without a deal. On Tuesday night, he announced on social media that he was now part of the coaching staff of the OHL's London Knights.

1st day as a coach! Exciting stuff! @londonknightsohl

Earlier in his career, Prust was effective with the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens before being traded to the Vancouver Canucks along with a fifth round pick for Zack Kassian.

In 486 NHL games, Prust recorded 40 goals and 115 points overall.
