Veteran of over 550 NHL games fails to make Olympic team, may retire from hockey.

While former National Hockey League defenseman James Wisniewski wasn't in the NHL this season, he still had a big goal in mind as he attempted to make USA Hockey's roster for the upcoming Olympic Games in South Korea.

Unfortunately on Wednesday Wisniewski announced that his Olympic dream would not be happening, however he did not announce why he would not be participating in the Olympic Winter Games.

Wisniewski did however add that it has been "a whirlwind of a career" leading many to believe that this may be the end for him as a professional hockey player, understandable given how big of a disappointment this appears to be for him.

If this is indeed the end and if James Wisniewski does in fact hang up his skate, we wish him all the best on his future endeavors.
