Jimmy Vesey certainly didn't make any new fans in Massachusetts this offseason.

The highly touted prospect finally decided on which team to sign with on Friday, much to the dismay of the handful of other teams vying for his services. The 2016 Hobey Baker award winner elected to sign with the New York Rangers, a decision that left many scratching their heads.

Several teams courted the 6'2/ 195 pound forward, including his hometown Boston Bruins. The Bruins were considered one of the favourites the sign Vesey, who is a native of the greater Boston area. By choosing to sign with the rival Blueshirts, the 23-year old drew the ire of Bruins' fans everywhere, along with one of the team's players.

Bruins' gritty forward Matt Beleskey, who signed with Boston as a free agent last summer, called out the NCAA's top player for making an unwise decision.

The Bruins have missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons and need more help on the blue line than up-front, but Vesey may be in for an interesting welcome when Boston hosts the Rangers on Nov. 5.
